Easter at home

This year for Easter it looks like many of us will be spending it at home with our loved ones, for many parents trying to keep their children entertained at the best of times can be a difficult task so we’ve put together some easy tips to keep your little ones busy throughout the whole of Easter.

Send Easter cards

Not seeing family members during this time can be difficult but especially for children, why not get them to make Easter cards for family and friends. Writing the cards gives them the perfect opportunity to practice their handwriting as well as letting them get creative with the designs.

Easter egg hunt in the garden

Just because we’re at home doesn’t mean that the children have to miss out on the annual Easter egg hunt instead have a mini egg hunt in your garden. Before going out in the sunshine get the craft supplies out and get your children to make their own Easter egg baskets this way you are entertaining them that little bit longer before the egg hunt and making sure those all important eggs are not eaten right away.

Hard boiled eggs

Decorating hard boiled eggs is a cheap yet simple way to keep your children busy for a few hours. Once all the eggs are decorated you could hold a mini competition between your children and let the winning pick a film of their choice for the whole family to watch later that evening. Before you boil the eggs make sure to boil the water in the kettle first, this will save you money on your energy bills. Energy cost free activities to do at home with the children

Many members of our team here at Nabuh have young children and we understand the pressure parents around the UK are now feeling financially. Many parents are now working from home or unable to work due to the government guidelines or simply because they now have no childcare.

We have put together some energy cost-free ideas for you and your children to help keeo your energy bills as low as possible.

Build a fort inside your living room or children's bedroom and fill it with their favourite books or toys. It's a nicie way to create a calming place within your home if your child is feeling overwhelmed and unsettled with the current life changes.

If your children received paints or craft items for past birthdays/Christmases, why not get them out and encourage them to get creative? They can use this as a way of expressing their thoughts and feelings around this time.

A great thing to do as a family would be to wipe dust off the board games living under your children's beds and swap your evening shows for a board game. This is a great way to get your children interacting and learning.

Playing in your garden as a household is encouraged. Things like messy play, imaginary games and football can all be done outside. This will not only release some of your children's energy but also will help them to pass the time!
